Since discovering Twitch, I have advocated for its versatility as a media outlet; while the website was originally intended to showcase gaming content, it has evolved into a platform for art, music, talk shows, cooking and internet personalities.

Its userbase grew considerably following worldwide lockdown measures as a response to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, becoming the outlet of choice for many performers and venues impacted by social distancing guidelines.

During the 2020 George Floyd protests, several Twitch channels aggregated uncensored aerial and on-the-ground footage from individuals of daily gatherings and marches.

I also helped launch Open Signal’s Twitch channel in June 2020.
